My passion for event design was originally ignited by my own home entertaining. Beginning with that thrilling point-of-no-return moment when I would drop my bundle of invitations into the mailbox, up to the moment the first guest rang my doorbell, I found myself drawn into a creative riptide. Brainstorming, crafting, baking, cooking, decorating~~inventing a one-of-a kind celebration for my family and friends.
I initially focused on developing my culinary skills, travelling domestically and abroad to participate in a variety of cooking programs. I also earned certificates from the renowned French Culinary Institute in Manhattan—one in Culinary Techniques, another in the Craft of Food Writing.
However, over the years, as my parties became famous for their originality and attention to detail, I came to realize that designing unique and imaginative events is really where my heart lies. This is why I established Poppyseed Events.
I bring to Poppyseed Events an arsenal of talents. In addition to my creative and culinary skills, in my previous career as a Wall Street professional I worked in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment that has come to serve me well in the field of event planning. My experience on the trading floor has provided me with an invaluable skill set necessary for successfully juggling the dynamic, multi-faceted components involved with event planning and execution.
I feel quite fortunate to be able to channel my talents, enthusiasm and high energy in the pursuit of parties! Nothing gives me more joy than seeing the delight in my clients’ eyes when they see what Poppyseed Events has created for their very special occasion.
